Having Lots of FUN!!
I am an award winning property investor, #1 best-selling author, public speaker, coach, trainer and mentor. But I haven't always done these things...
I moved to the UK in 2007 when I was an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Right at the height of the credit crunch, which helped me to realise that I didn't love accounting enough to stick it out and put up with the corporate back-stabbing and drudgery (in fact, I hated accounting). So I started to look for something else. In 2009 I became a freelance accountant - thinking that working for myself must be better that working someone else...and it was to an extent. But as an accountant I still had to go to someone else's office and build someone else's business doing what they told me to do. So I continued to look for something else...
In 2013 I discovered property investing. I had been reading a number of books including Rich Dad Poor Dad and Property Magic and realised that if so many people build wealth through property, maybe I could too.
I started to attend local property investor meetings and realised I needed more training if I was going to do this property. I had no property experience and in fact, didn't even own my own home. So I started to get educated. It also brought me into the circle of many other property investors and entreprenuers, which helped improve my mindset 100 fold.
After playing at property investing for about 12 months - I finally took the plunge and committed to the Rent to Rent Strategy in January 2014.
By the end of 2014 I had 9 Rent to Rent deals under my belt which would bring in £100,000 PROFIT per annum! I no longer needed to be an accountant - I was financially free through property.
I spent most of 2015 systemising the Rent to Rent business and adding to it with 2 more Rent to Rent properties and 2 property purchases (using other people's money). This systemisation allowed me to bring on a team of 3 part-time staff so that I am nearly completely removed from the day-to-day running and managing of the business. Turning the income into the sought after passive income!
In 2016 we took on another 7 Rent to Rent properties in March and OMG - it took a year to get those under control as the owner's were left in quite difficult circumstances by their previous agent. So while I and my team got those up and running I also turned my focus to helping others to achieve their property investing goals and reach their success, whether that is escaping the 9 to 5, helping their partner escape the 9 to 5 or just building up their own business instead of spending their time building someone else's business. While I am grateful for me Rent to Rent business - I am truly grateful to have found my passion in helping others realise that they don't have to follow the crowd. You can follow your own path, step away from the crowd and live the life of your dreams! And I thank you for allowing me to be a part of that journey!
2017 was another amazing year - with 3 new Rent to Rent properties in Oxford and a few ups and downs with quite a few shifts in my team that helps me manage the properties. There is always more to learn when running a business and it's amazing to still be involved because it gives me the hands on experience to be able to share my learnings and my experience with everyone else!
I can't wait to see what 2018 has to offer as I shift my focus again to building our farm (yes - we just purchased 27 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire countryside to start an alpaca farm and build our future home) along with planning my wedding! I'll still be busy with Rent to Rent and have lots of amazing insights and experiences to share! I'm so excited for you to join me!
